Mrs. B. Hanson Buried March 9th

Mrs. Kjersti Hanson, nee Olson, was born at Erie, Lerdahl, Sogn, Norway May 17, 1853, of Ole and Sigred Erie who emigrated from Norway in 1865, going directly to Spring Prairie, Wisconsin where the family resided four years.

Mrs. Hanson was confirmed in 1872 by the Rev. H. A. Preus in Adams, Minnesota.

Mr. and Mrs Hanson were united in Holy Matrimony at the Lutheran parsonage in Austin, Minnesota May 26, 1874 by Rev. P. G. Ostby. They lived for three years south west of Adams, then moving to the present home northwest of Adams where they have resided 62 years.

Their marriage was blessed with eleven children, three of whom died at an early age. She is survived by her husband and eight children, Benjamin, Mathilda and Oscar at home. Gina, Mrs John Ellingson at Bothell, Washington; Clara, Mrs. Peter Finkelson, Christian and Harry at Adams. Micheal of Spokane, Washington died January 8th of this year.

Twenty-five grand children and nineteen great grand children, one sister, Mrs. Lena Olson, Wapheton, N.D. two brothers, Lars Erie of Faribault and Hans Erie of LeRoy also survived the departed.

Mrs. Hanson died at home Tuesday morning March 5, 1940 at eight o'clock at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 17 days. She is laid away in the dress worn at the 50th and the 65th wedding anniversaries.

She often sang her favorite hymn 'Jeg veed mig en sovn Jesu navn", and longed for the blessed sleep in Christ.

For the last twelve years she had been unable to attend church on account of ill health, but she was a faithful listener to the Norwegian services Sunday morning over the radio station WCAL which she enjoyed very much and which brought her much comfort. Blessed be her memory.

"I am home in heaven, dear ones; Oh so happy so bright! There is perfict joy and beauty in this everlasting light."

Funeral Services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock from the home and at 1:30 from Little Cedar Church, Her Pastor, Rev. Alfred Breivik officiating. He chose for his text 1 Cor. 13:8-13, Special music was furnished by the Ladies Octets, composed of Medames, B.J. Huseby, E.S. Halverson, A.A. Knutson, L. Slindee, N.V. Torgerson and O. Uglum who sang "Den Store Hvide Flok" and Mrs. N.V. Torgerson and Mrs. Lawrance Halverson sang "God Be With You Till We Meet Again."

The Pallbearers were five of her grandsons: Bernie Hanson, Archie Hanson, Raymond Finkleson, William Finkelson, Harry Finkelson, and one of her great grandsons, Donald Adams. Her body was laid to rest in Little Cedar Cemetery.
