He initially studied Engineering at San Diego City College and served with the United States Army, prior to gravitating towards acting. After focusing on a career in entertainment, he enrolled at the Bob Gist Dramatic Workshop and later studied Theatre Arts at Los Angeles City College. He began his association with television during the early 1960s and went on to appear in such programs as "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," "Ben Casey," "Star Trek" and "Julia." During the 1970s, he appeared in such films as "The Thing With Two Heads" (1972), "Terminal Island" (1973) and "Uptown Saturday Night" (1974).
