Anderson Family Reunion

The first reunion of the descendants of Birret and Mary Walling Anderson was held in Wilber park Friday with more than 90 members of the family present. A game of old fashioned baseball, quoits and other atheltic events proved entertaining to the participants and fully as much to their aduience and an excellent picnic dinner was served shortly after noon.

It was unanimously decided to hold a reunion next year, the third Thursday in August, and the selection of Wilber park was made without question. B. W. Anderson of Gilbertsvill was elected president, Homer Anderson, vice president and Florine Anderson, secretary and treasure, the later two offers being residents of Oneonta.

There is only one child of the fourteen who were born to Mr. and Mrs. Birret Anderson now living Miss Julia Anderson, of 8 Columbia street.

The following towns were represented at the reunion: Franklin, North Franklin, Delhi, Richfield Springs, Davenport, Gilbertsville, Portlandville, Albany, Norwich, Edmeston, Brooklyn and Massapequa, N.Y., and Bernardston, Mass.

Gravesite Details

A transcription of the cemetery notes that the stone is present in the cemetery. On my visit to the cemetery in 2006, there was no stone present.
