Beatrice C. Prinkey, 103, of Irwin, formerly of Greensburg and Connellsville, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, in the Golden Heights Personal Care Home, Irwin.

She was born Jan. 10, 1913, in Bullskin Township, Fayette County, a daughter of the late James W. and Viola Niswonger Prinkey. She was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the class of 1930. Beatrice retired from the West Penn Power Company in 1978 after 41 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Connellsville.

Beatrice had been a member of the West Penn Power Women's Bowling league and enjoyed playing golf. She had also been a member of the Junior's Women's Club. Beatrice is survived by her sister, Jessie Crowell, of Massachusetts; and many nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her sisters, Lily Weyant, Mary Robertson, Dolly Junk, Pauline Lane, Edna Prinkey and Sarah Luczak; and her brothers, Joseph and James Prinkey and Ralph E. Prinkey Sr. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Golden Heights Personal Care Home, Promise Hospice and her family doctor, Tutiana Leibu, MD, for all of their wonderful and loving care given to Beatrice.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, (724-628-1430). A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church, 301 S. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, PA 15425, with her nephew, the Rev. Ralph E. Prinkey Jr., officiating.

Everyone please go directly to the church. A committal service and interment will follow in the chapel at Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
