Mr. Allen was born Jan 15, 1919 at Bristol Center, NY the son of Lewis and Bessie (North) Allen. He was raised by Samuel and Flora Dibble of Big Flats, NY.
Floyd married Mildred L. Little Nov 20, 1937.
He was gatherer for Corning Inc. where he retired in 1981. Floyd also owned and operated Allen Enterprises for 30 years. He was the areas first TV repairman. Following retirement from Corning Inc. in 1981 Floyd became a real estate agent for Winters Real Estate.
Mr. Allen was a member of Corning Elks BPOE 1071 and Bath American Legion Post.
He is survived by his loving wife Mildred at home; two daughters: Carol (Albert) Davidson of Wellsville, NY, and Sharon Allen of Charlottesville, VA; one son: Floyd L.(Arietta) Allen Jr. of Corning; grandchildren: Tamara (Scott) Bluett; Timothy Winner; Albert Davidson Jr., Christie (George) McDowell; Kelly (Harold) Willett; Jeffrey (Shellie) Allen; Lisa Winner; Jodi (Luke) Thomas; Michelle Winner; John (Sarah Gill) Allen; twenty g-grandchildren; one g-g-grandson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Floyd was predeceased by his sister, Ethel Hickok.
Calling hours will be Sun (today) from 5-7 PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, where the funeral will follow at the conclusion of calling hours. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Caton, NY.
