Mrs. Lenora Wakefield Mears, 97, of Centre, formerly of Gadsden, passed away Tuesday, June 5 in Cherokee County Nursing Home.
She was a member of Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church.
Services were Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church.
Graveside services were at 1 p.m. at Forrest cemetery in Gadsden with Perry Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Mears is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Paul K. McWhorter, Jr. of Cedar Bluff; two sons, John U. Mears, Jr. and Thomas W. Mears, both of Mountain Brook; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mears was the daughter of the late John Pink Wakefield and Ella Nora Maranda Walker Wakefield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John U. Mears, Sr.
