Beech Island - Funeral Services for Mr. Alvin Binnicker, 87, of Old Trail Road, Beech Island, SC, who passed away September 29, 2016, surrounded by his family, will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Reverend David Lester and Reverend Freddie Tarver officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Binnicker was born November 21, 1928 in Cordova, South Carolina, to Willie and Geneva Dukes Binnicker and had made Beech Island his home for the past 66 years. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War from 1951 to 1952, having been stationed in Fort Hood, Texas and Germany and was retired from the E.I. DuPont Company at the Savannah River Plant with 33 years of service. Mr. Binnicker was a Charter Member of Second Baptist Church of Beech Island and also had attended for many years the Historic First Baptist Church of Beech Island. His passion was working in his Vegetable and Flower Gardens and loved camping at Myrtle Beach where he became friends with many people from all over the Country. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Margaret Sanford Binnicker; a son and his wife, Billy and Cheryl Binnicker, Hephzibah; a daughter and her husband, Diane and Dan Edwins, Beech Island; four grandchildren, Becky Duffer, Bridget Hill, Brandi Gaskill and Brett Binnicker; ten great grandchildren, Ashtyn Taylor Johnson, Branden Hill, Taryn Gaskill, Brianna Duffer, Ryleigh Binnicker, Davis Hill, Alyssa Duffer, Isabella Binnicker, Summer Edwins and Autumn Edwins; a brother, Wilbur Binnicker, Cordova, SC. Pallbearers will be Charles Sanford, Barry Sanford, Charles Edgemon, Kenny Wall, Bob Sanford, Freddie Hill, Wade Carson and Randy Poston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday afternoon one hour prior to the service.
