"Abiel Lovejoy was a farmer and held office of tax collector in Sidney in 1799. He is bur. in a tomb erected by his sons, Loyal and Harry Lovejoy, on the old Lovejoy farm. Abiel signed the Vassalborough school house agreement dated Dec. 16, 1789."
According to "The Lovejoy Genealogy," Loyal Lovejoy, Abiel's son, "built the Lovejoy Tomb on the old farm at Sidney, Me. for the remains of his parents and other relatives" [pg. 160 Lovejoy Genealogy].

Gravesite Details
I believe that the large white stone near the road is the remaining pediment of the tomb erected by Loyal Lovejoy as a final resting place for his parents. Source: Lovejoy Genealogy
