A homemaker for most of her life, Nova loved quilting and crocheting while she was a babysitter for her grandchildren. Fond of prose, she wrote numerous poems that garner the halls of her children. She was also a wonderful baker of cookies and bread. She anticipated spring planting of her vegetable garden for canning in the fall. Mostly she was a loving, caring, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Surviving are two daughters, Dixie Lee & Leon Miller of Linville, VA and Donna V. & James Baker of Fulks Run, VA; a son, Dennis A. & Emily Funk of Kirby, WV; three sisters, Eula Glee Kasper of Frederick, MD, Mazie Plummer of McLean, VA and Nina McDonald of Winchester, VA; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and sister-in-law’s, Armetha Tenney of Chatsworth, GA and Ethel Funk of Moorefield, WV.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Asbury Cemetery, North River Road, Baker, WV.
