RALLS (Special) - Graveside services for A.J. Cowley, 83, of Cone will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Ralls Cemetery with the Rev. Russ Byard, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

He died at 5:29 a.m. Thursday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Dallas and moved to Crosby County in 1919. He graduated from Ralls High School and attended Texas Tech College. He married Linnie Mae Northcutt on Nov. 22, 1951, in Hobbs, N.M. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He was a farmer and cotton ginner and a charter member of the Ralls Lions Club. He was the gatekeeper at the Ralls Lions Club rodeos and a member of the Ralls Volunteer Fire Department and the Air Stream Travel Club.

Survivors include his wife; and two sisters, Berty Tidwell of Big Spring and Anne Johnson of Fort Worth.
