J. W. Almarode, well-known carpenter of this city and a native of Augusta died at his home this morning at 8:50 o'clock after a serious illness of more than a week. He had been in declining health for sometime. Mr. Almarode, who was 63 at the time of his death came here many years ago from Middlebrook where funeral services will be held at the Oakland M. E. Church on Friday at 11 a.m. He is survived by his widow, four sons, Harry, Dorsey, David and George R. and four daughters Mrs. Lacy Arehart of Greenville and Mrs. Bernard Lowry, and Misses Lillian and Ruby of this city. Three brothers and one sister also survive. Friends of the deceased will gather at the late home west of the city at 9 a.m. Friday. The Junior Order of this city will have charge of the services.
