Elmer J. Baldes Jr., 70, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 1995, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Born April 11, 1925, in Springfield to Elmer J. and Teresa Mangers Baldes Sr., he married Jackie J. Switzer on Nov. 15, 1947, in Springfield. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Michael J. and John; three daughters, Candy Knippenberg, Mitzi Hobbs, and Jayme Gambrel; and one sister, Susan Cook.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

He worked in the shipping department at Hiram Walker & Sons.

Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
