Herbert Spencer Giddens, Jr., a retired electrical Engineer with Florida Power and Light, age 76 passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 at his home in Monticello.

Herbert Spencer Giddens, Jr., a retired Electrical Engineer with Florida Power and Light, age 76 passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 at his home in Monticello.
He was born Nov. 14, 1939 the third of six children of Herbert and Alice Giddens. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Giddens of Monticello; three sisters, Olivia Mason (John) of Osteen, Esther Kohler of Chatsworth, GA, Martha Ann Briddle (Tedd) of Tolland, CT and a brother Lee Giddens (Linda) of Osteen.

He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Snyder. He leaves behind four devoted step-daughters, nine grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Navy during Viet Nam as a Petty Officer from 1961-1965.
Funeral Services were held 11 a.m. CT Wednesday, Sept. 7 at Beggs Monticello Chapel in Monticello. Herbert was laid to rest at Roberts Cemetery in Honeyville at 2 p.m.
