DeFRANCESCO, JOHN "Johnny Dee", 74, died suddenly on Thursday, April 8th in Atlantic City Medical Center, City Division. Born in South Philadelphia, he lived in Atlantic City most of his adult life. In 1993, he retired from his position as Supt. of Parks and Public Property for the City of Atlantic City where he was employed for 37 years.

During the 1940's and 50's he was the lead trumpet player for the Benny Goodman Orchestra and Elliot Lawrence Orchestra. During the mid 1950's and early 60's he was a member of the Pete Miller Orchestra at the 500 Club in Atlantic City.

He was a member of the A.C. Musicians Union, Local 661-708 and the Philadelphia Musical Society, Local 77. He was a parishioner of St. Michael's R.C. Church, Atlantic City.

He is survived by his wife Paula (nee Avrami) of Atlantic City; his daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Jim Girard of Linwood; a step-daughter, Stephanie Low of Somers Point and a step-son, Dennis Sandole and his wife Ingrid of Burke, Virginia. He is also survived by his sister, Jeanette Monar of Margate. He is also survived by two granddaughters, PaulaRose and Anna Maria Girard, and a grandson Jimmy John Girard of Linwood. He is survived by three step-grandchildren, Tina Arch of Egg Harbor Twp., David Love-Pezzotti of Somers Point and Timothy Sandole of Burke, Virginia. He is also survived by two step-great grandchildren, Christina and Jonathan Arch of Egg Harbor Twp. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Linwood. Burial will be at Laurel Memorial Park Cemetery, Pomona. Gormley Funeral Home, Atlantic City.
