Elmer J. Laird, native of Philipsburg, passed away at his home at South Philipsburg, Sunday evening, following a illness of several weeks with heart trouble. Deceased, who was 63 years of age, was a son of Rev. and Mrs. Joseph Laire, both deceased. On April 22, 1890 he was wedded to Ida May Oberheim, who survives along with these children: Fred at home; Merrell, of Detroit; Barker William whose where abouts are unknown; Mrs. Myrtle Harner of New Kensington; Mrs. Jessie Schuller of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Pearl Kyler Of Youngstown, Ohio; Mrs, Claire Schubert of Johnstown. A sister, Mrs. John Harper of near Philipsburg, also survives. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from his late home with interment in Philipsburg Cemetery.
