The family moved to Arkansas where he received his education. He worked as an outfitter guide in the Scapegoat Wilderness near Lincoln, Montana for several years. He moved to Great Falls, Montana and worked for Waddell and Reed for a few years before moving to Conrad, Montana and working for Schwans. Most recently, he worked for Big Sky Airlines as an airline flight dispatcher.
Henry was united in marriage to Pam Ehlers on June 29, 1990 at Midland, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Montana before moving to the Gering area in 2003.
Henry was an active Lay Visitor Minister at St. Francis Episcopal Church, previous board member, and Vestry member. He loved his dog “Lightning”, horses, gardening, hunting, fishing, playing basketball, and watching college and professional basketball. He was an avid reader.
Henry is survived by: his wife, Pam; daughter, Nicolette; son, Walker; brothers, James Cook and Robert Swearingen; sisters Carolyn Avery and Cora Reith; half sister, Connie Sue Crowely; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Sally Ehlers; and several extended family members.
Henry was preceded in death by: his parents; and daughter, Cassidy Augusta Cook.
Memorial service on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Scottsbluff. Graveside services at Midland Cemetery in Midland, South Dakota.
