She is my Great Grandmother.
She was the eldest daughter of Edward and Annie (Kelly) Collins. She was married to Francis Baronie, and together they had five children. Anna was widowed at 27 when her husband passed away from Septicemia. The Great Depression hit several months later, leaving her a single mother to five children under ten and in dire financial straits. She managed to raise five children on her own during these challenging times.
Starting in the late 1930s, she worked for the city of Boston, mostly in the Assessing Department. Later in life she achieved a law degree, but unfortunately never had the opportunity to use it.
She passed away from cancer at the age of 72. She is buried with her daughters Kathleen and Molly Shine (both married into the same family) and with her grandson John Shine, Jr.
