Funeral services for Rosa Mae Waters, 82, of Iredell, were held Wednesday, Nov. 22, in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Keith Maloney officiating. Burial was in the Fulton Cemetery near Walnut Springs. Waters passed away on Friday, Nov. 17, in Clifton. She was born Jan. 25, 1924, in Walnut Springs, the daughter of the late Fannie Ownbey Beck and Raymond Beck. She was raised and educated in the Walnut Springs and Iredell areas. On April 2, 1949, she was united in marriage to John F. Waters, III, in Fort Worth. She worked as a bookkeeper for an accounting firm for many years. She lived in Fort Worth and Houston before moving to Los Angeles, Calif, in 1965. In 1985, she moved to Iredell. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Her husband preceded her in death in 1984. Waters is survived by her son Gary Waters and wife, Daisie of Cranfills Gap; daughter Carolyn Wheeler and husband, Michael of Glendora Calif.; grandsons Derek Waters and Scotty Wheeler; sisters Alene Beckman of Kemah and Winnie Maloney of Burleson; brother James T. (Jimmie) Beck of Richland Hills; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Serving as pallbearers were Chad Maloney, Dan Maloney, Tim Waller, Randy Beck, Jack Maloney, and Jordan Pierce.
