Henry Beckwith was born in abt. 1775 in Nash County, NC, the first son of Amos and Rhoda (Willis) Beckwith. He married Mourning Hurt abt. 1791. They settled in Marion District South Carolina where Henry was a planter. Henry and Mourning had the following children:
