Helen Gladys Laird, 88, of Springfield died Friday at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born April 17, 1908, in Auburn, the daughter of Dr. F.A. and Angie Colean Laird.
She had worked for Montgomery Ward in the accounting department for 31 years and retired from the state Department of Revenue in 1975.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, DAR, Flower City Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Anise Club, Magna Carta Dames and the Americans of Royal Desent.
Survivors: a sister, Mrs. Walter (Mary Louise) Cross [sic] of Springfield; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Remains to be cremated.
Burial: Roselawn Memorial Park.
Arrangements are pending at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel.
