Ronald E. Gilmore, 69, of New Castle, PA passed away the morning of July 24, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born in Butler on June 7, 1947, he was a son of Harry B. Gilmore, Sr. and Avanell R. Payne Gilmore Keitzer. Thirty-five years ago, on July 25, 1981, he married Sharon Trover Gilmore. She survives him at home. After graduating from Butler High School he attended Butler County Community College for two years. He served his country for two years in the US Army. His employment began with G. C. Murphy's, followed by Rockwell International and he retired from General Electric. Time spent with his family was his favorite time. His other pastimes included camping, hunting, fishing, golfing and belonging to a pool league. He was a member of the Moose Club, American Legion (Harrisville), Polish Falcons, and K.P. Pulaski Club. He also belonged to the Harrisville Deer Hunter Association. Besides his wife, Ronald is survived by one daughter, two sons, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by one brother Harry B. "Bert" Gilmore, Jr. Visitation will be from 4-8 Wednesday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Nero officiating.
