OBITUARY
Alfred Olson, son of Olof and Lena Olson, was born April 13, 1862 at Varmland, Sweden. At the early age of nine he emigrated to America with his family group. The family homesteaded in Kirk, Nebr., where many years were spent. May 1, 1883 he married Hannah Anderson, at Scandia, Kans.
This union was blessed with several children. A pair of twins died in infancy. Now surviving the father's death are: Harry of Chicago, Elmer of Powhatan, Kans., and Mrs. Annie Anderson of Scandia. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Tilda Gee of Burdick, Kans., and Mrs. Alma Beckman of Los Angeles, Calif., and one brother Charles Olson of Scandia. Together with these near relatives six grandchildren and a host of friends.
Mr. Olson had been in failing health for many years but the two years since his brother, John Olson, was lost in the San Juan disaster have taken their toll of strength.
Mr. Olson was confirmed as a child in the Lutheran church but later joined the Methodist church.
After several days of intense suffering he passed to his reward, at an age of 69 years, 5 months and 1 day.
May God strengthen those that remain and may His consolation and might inspire and sustain those who grieve over the loss of father, husband, and friend.
Funeral services were held Sept. 17, 1931, at 10 o'clock from the home and 10:15 at the Methodist church with Rev. B. W. Selin officiating.
