MORRISTOWN -- Osco Wayne Bailey, 79, of Morristown, passed away Feb. 14, 2011.
He was a decorated veteran, receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart while serving our country in the U.S. Army as sergeant during the Korean War.
He was also an employee of American Enka Corp. and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 5266, of Morristown.
Osco was preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Edna Bailey; a sister: Betty Gunter; a brother: Fain Bailey; his lifetime partner: Rita Bailey; and his son: Ricky Wayne Bailey.
He is survived by his daughter and son and daughter-in-law: Renea Bailey Ambrose of Greeneville and Randy "Arlo" Bailey and wife, Kathy, of Auburn, Ga.; five grandchildren: Todd Bailey of Morristown, Mr. and Mrs. Josh (Kelly Ambrose) Jones and Matt Abrose of Greeneville, Chrissy Bailey of Georgia, and Mr. and Mrs. Derrick Greene of Knoxville; three great-grandchildren: Garrison and Gracie Jones of Greeneville and Liam Greene of Knoxville; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Elizabeth and Bruce White and Joan Bailey of Rutledge; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal visitation.
The family will gather at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mayes Family Services of Morristown, downtown chapel, to proceed to Hamblen Memory Gardens for a military graveside memorial service conducted by VFW Post No. 5266.
