Marianne is a graduate of West High School, Columbus, Ohio and received a B.A. degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University. She was employed by the Franklin County Court where she began as a probation officer in the Children's Services Welfare Department, and then moved to the Court of Domestic Relations. After over 30 years of service, she retired as Supervisor of the Juvenile Court Children's Protective Services Department.
Marianne was often recognized around town for her regular appearances on the local dramatized court TV show, The Judge. The series chronicled the family court cases heard by Judge Robert J. Franklin.
Marianne's contagious laugh and wonderful sense of humor brought joy to all those around her. She was an avid supporter of the Jazz Arts Group and held season tickets to their performances for over 20 years. She enjoyed opera, bridge, painting, walking, tennis, genealogy and traveling with brother and extended family.
She was the dear sister of John Evans and his wife, Marjorie, who was a lifelong friend and like a sister to her, of Clayton, California. She was aunt to Steven Evans, Laguna Nigel, California, Michael Evans, Palo Alto, California, and Suzanne (Gerry) Morgan, Denver, Colorado. Marianne is survived by six great-nieces and great-nephews. She was a friend to many and will be dearly missed.
She will be laid to rest alongside her parents at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 West Broad St, Galloway, Ohio and celebrated with private services in California. Arrangements by Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Rd, Columbus, Ohio.
