She was a member of the Sodality, sewing guild, sacristy committee and Our Lady's committee at Little Flower Catholic Church in Bethesda. She lived at the Bedford Court retirement community in Silver Spring. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy. She was a secretary with the Veterans Administration and the Government Accounting Office in the 1930s and 1940s.
She was predeceased by her husband, Perry H "Michael" Springston, in June of 1976. She was survived by a sister, Evelyn M Lanman; and two brothers, Francis B McGivern of Silver Spring and Raymond H McGivern of Rockville.
