Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Interment will follow services at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
Mary Ellen Bennett was born March 23, 1936, to Glen H. and Helen Arelia Waddell Bennett in Columbus City, Iowa. She married Kenneth K. Hahn Feb. 15, 1951, in Davenport.
She was employed as a supervisor with Ralston-Purina Co. in Davenport, retiring in 1995.
Mary had lived in Atkinson for the past 15 years, but lived in Davenport for most of her life. She enjoyed living on her farm, surrounded by her flowers and trees. She also liked "going to the boat" and playing bingo. Mary's family was very special to her, and she was always more concerned for others than she was for herself. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Kenna Augsburger, Geneseo, Sherry Lorenzen, Geneseo, Diana Schmidt, Galva, and Cindie Nolan, Bettendorf; sons, Rick Hahn, Davenport, Kenneth Hahn Jr., Moline, Tom Hahn, Atkinson, and Tim Hahn, Atkinson; a sister, Karen Sexton, Davenport; a brother, William Bennett, Knoxville, Iowa; her stepmother, Ursula Bennett, Chandler, Ariz.; stepsisters, Kathy Greer, Davenport, and Susie Colby, Chandler; 17 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joann McQuillen; a brother, Glen Bennett Jr.; and a stepbrother, Andrew Bennett.
