Hazel "Madelyn" Colvin Adams, age 100, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Cedar Ridge Health Campus, in Cynthiana. Born in Robertson County, Kentucky, on February 23, 1915, to the late Lucius and Elsie Hieatt Colvin, she graduated from Cynthiana High School in 1932, where she excelled academically and was on the women's basketball team. Mrs. Adams was devoted to her family, was a faithful member of Cynthiana Christian Church and retired at the age of 90, after serving as secretary for 50 years. She was the Harrison Tobacco Warehouse office manager for over 30 years and a former Girl Scout leader.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of 56 years, Clay T. Adams; a brother, Bennett Colvin; a sister, Mildred Scott; and a great-granddaughter, Sherilyn Adams. She is survived by: a son, Clay (Ann Milton) Adams, II, of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Karen Adams, of Cynthiana; seven grandchildren, Tony (Mari) Adams, Stephanie (Namir) Sawaf, Shawn Keegan, Shane (Sharon) Adams, Seth Adams, Stephen Helsabeck and Nathan Helsabeck; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Cynthiana Christian Church by Dr. Larry Bishop and Dr. Tim Teater. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Ware Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cynthiana Christian Church or one's favorite charity. Pallbearers will be Clay Adams, II, Tony Adams, Shane Adams, Seth Adams, Stephen Helsabeck and Nathan Helsabeck.
