George Wesley Hargis was a son of Logan F. Hargis and Sarah Hale Hargis.

He married Sarah Delilah Brown on August 15, 1871. To this union six children were born; Sarah Malinda Hargis, Artelia Elizabeth Hargis, Mary Jane Hargis, Logan Jackson Hargis, Rachel Silinda Hargis and George Silvester Hargis.

He was a Southern Baptist Minister, loving husband and father and is greatly missed by his family and friends.
