Melroe's death was from an accident, electrocution at home; erecting an aerial for a radio over a high tension transmission line. Location was 16 miles N.E. of Lancaster. Melroe's first marriage was to Rosa Rose Elfert about 1926 and were divorced 8/23/1928, charges by Rosa were made in a newspaper in Chicago, Illinois, August 28, 1928, Rosa stated Melroe, a former American Navy sailor standing near his hand-built home on a homestead in the Mojave desert, was described to domestic court judges by Rosa as desertion. They met when Melroe was in the Navy and she stated the hardships in the desert, the heat was too much for her and Melroe told her to return east. They had one son, Robert Melroe Bloom (11/5/1927-8/27/1931, he died in Lancaster also).
