Ralph Adkisson, age 86 years, 9 months and 13 days, a resident of Charleston, Missouri, died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at his home.
Born October 1, 1929 in rural East Prairie, Missouri to the late Rudolph and Alice (Tanner) Adkisson, Ralph lived most of his life in Mississippi County where he was a farmer and landowner. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
On December 23, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri he married Dora Lee Brown who preceded him in death on January 12, 2012.
Survivors include one son and his fiancée, David Adkisson and Trinka Hileman and her daughter, Morgan; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Joe and Harriett Adkisson and Bill Adkisson all of East Prairie; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sue and Leo Martin and Dean Yount all of East Prairie; his special furry friends, Bentley and Amos; and a host of relatives and many friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, one daughter, Martha Adkisson; three brothers, Jerry, Jack and Paul; and one sister, Thelma Lieberman, also preceded Ralph in death.
Graveside services will be held Monday, July 18, at 10:00 a.m. at IOOF Cemetery at Charleston with full military honors. The Rev. Martin Lucas, pastor of First General Baptist Church of East Prairie, will officiate.
Pallbearers will be David Adkisson, Carlin Bennett, Richard Haney, Bart Stallings and Jimmy Reno.
Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Adkisson and Rex Adkisson.
