ELMER E. KIFER, SR. SERVICES HELD ON SATURDAY

Funeral services for Elmer Ellsworth Kifer, Sr., 59, of 527 First Avenue were conducted Saturday afternoon from St. Martin's Episcopal church with the Rev. Fr. W. W. Davis officiating. Interment was in Wardvale Methodist Cemetery. Friends were received at the Ubel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Lester Keller, Frank Micklitsch, George DeLong, John Kowalski, Malcolm Stump and Kenneth Williams.
He died Thursday noon at Ridgway hospital following a very lengthy illness.
Mr. Kifer, a son of the late Frank and Katherine Lovelace Kifer, was born in Whistletown on January 15, 1907, was a storekeeper at the New York & Pennsylvania Company for 15 years. He was a member of St. Martin's Church, the B.P.O.Elks, and Rolfe Sportsmen's club.
Elks Lodge of Sorrow was conducted Friday evening.
Survivors are his wife, the former Naomi Summers, whom he married January 8, 1934; a son, Elmer, Jr.; six grandchildren and three sisters. Mrs. Stanley Besse, Mrs. George Lambertson, Kane and Mrs. Jack Kestler, of Ridgway road. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School in the class of 1926.
