Lois was born in China Spring, Texas, to the late Myrtle and Alan Nelson. She attended China Spring schools and later met and married Leroy Smith. Lois was a member of Lake Shore United Methodist Church and was very active there over the years. She worked as an inspector at several sewing factories then after retirement, she ran a day-care out of her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Smith; brother, Howard Nelson; sister, Joyce Behringer; and son-in-law, Michael Reese.
Survivors include her daughter, Eva Joan Reese; granddaughter, Kari Daniel and husband, Cody; grandson, Robert Reese and wife, Christi; great-granddaughters, Alissa and Krista; sister, Jeanie Pack and husband, Pete; brother, Allen Nelson and wife, Miriam; very special friends, Elsie Garrett and Joyce Roy; and several nieces, nephews and other friends.
