Betty Jean Meunier, 78, daughter of the late Frank Bourie and Beulah Wade Bourie, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2006. She was born October 2, 1927 in Cross City, Florida and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Meunier. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Arthur Meunier; her children, Linda Lavaseur, Shirley Boone, Suzanne Kitchens and Daniel Meunier; brother and sisters, Daniel Bourie, Louise Jarrette, Patricia Tank and Joan Lane; three grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
Betty's favorite flowers were wild flowers. Betty and Arthur have been parishioners of St. Patrick's Catholic Church for 30 years.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Monday, September 11 with a Vigil Service to be held at the Chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Tuesday, September 12, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1431 Broward Road, with Fr. Robert McDermott officiating.
