Taylor George Simmons, 84, of 311 Glen Ave., died in the Clarksburg Veterans Hospital Saturday at 10:20 p.m. following an extended illness. He was born January 18, 1875 in Upshur County a son of Noah and Tillie Fitzgerald Simmons. Surviving are two sons, Boyd R. of 311 Glen Ave. and Darrel of Belington, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Lynch of Monticello Ave. and Mrs. Geneva Arehart of Anmoore: one half sister, Mrs. Emma Lake of Tennerton and eighteen grandchildren. Mr. Simmons was a veteran of the Spanish American War. Friends are being received at the Davis Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 PM. The Rev. Mendell Gainer will conduct the service and the interment will be in the Greenlawn Cem.
