Lucie M. (Cormier) Lévesque, age 40, the wife of Roméo Lévesque of 1527 Islington Street in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, died on Monday, March 25, 1963, at a Brighton, Massachusetts hospital after a long illness.

Born on March 31, 1913, in Saint-Léonard-Parent, New Brunswick, Canada, Lucie was the eldest child of the late Alfred and Clarina (Ouellette) Cormier. She had resided in Ports- mouth for the last thirteen years where she was a communicant at St. James Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. In addition to her husband of twenty years, she was survived by one son, Edward Cormier, stationed at Fort Devens, Massachu- setts, with the U.S. Army ; seven brothers, Paul Cormier and Lionel Cormier, both of Ports- mouth, Ludger Cormier and Onile Cormier, both of St-John, New Brunswick, Fernand Cormier and Gérard Cormier, both of Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada, and Lucien Cormier of Hart- ford, Connecticut; three sisters, Mrs. Jeanne [Ovila] Lajoie of Ontario, Mrs. Édwina [Paul] Roy of Sherbrooke, Québec, and Mrs. Rita [Lionel] Bélanger of Lac Baker, New Brunswick; her stepmother, Mrs. Bibiane (Sirois) Cormier of St-Léonard-Parent, New Brunswick; six half-siblings; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were held at the Farrell Funeral Home in Portsmouth on Wednesday and Thurs- day from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10. Funeral services took place on Friday morning from the funeral home to Saint James Church for a Solemn High Mass of Requiem at 9 o'clock celebrated by the Reverend Thomas F. Duffy, pastor, with the assistance of Reverend Thomas Bresnahan of Saint Catherine's Church and Reverend Leo- nard Splaine of Saint James. Mrs. Richmond Trainor was the organist and director of the liturgical choir. In attendance were students of Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, mem- bers of the Ave Maria Guild, Portsmouth Hos-
pital employees, and members of the Catholic Daughters of America, which formed an honor guard at the church. The Guild and the Catho- lic Daughters of America also recited the Holy Rosary on Thursday night at the funeral home. Mrs. Lévesque's burial was in Calvary Ceme- tery of Portsmouth with Father Splaine con- ducting the committal. Pall bearers were Paul Cormier, Onile Cormier, Ludger Cormier, Fernand Cormier, Geérard Cormier, and Lucien Cormier, all brothers of the deceased.
