ELGIN, Ill. - Illinois Alexander, 66, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at his home in Elgin. He was born July 5, 1937, in Corinth to Oscar and Ardine Miller Alexander. He had been a resident of Elgin since 1966, and had been employed by U.S. Can as a lithographer before retiring. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was affiliated with Manifold Mercy Christian Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James A.M.E. Church, 1100 Summitt Street, Elgin, Illinois with the Rev. Michael McCall officiating. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Laird Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie Davis Alexander; four children, Stanley Wicks and his wife, Artie, and Joe Henry Wicks, all of Corinth, Marlon Alexander and his wife, Donya Graham, of Rockford, Ill., and Mario Alexander of Elgin, Ill.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Izola Parcham of Washington, D.C. and Pecolia Campbell and her husband, Curtis, of Guys, Tenn.; a host of foster children; and his special friend, Eddie Wilborn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ohio Alexander.
