Mariana Pineda
Birth: Sep. 1, 1804
Death: May 26, 1831

Spanish Folk Figure. Born in Granada, Andalucia, Spain, she became involved in the cause against the absolutist monarchy of the King Fernando VII. In 1831, she was arrested and accused of conspiracy after a flag with the words "Igualdad, Libertad y Ley"("Equality, Liberty and Law") was discovered in her home.
