Maymestelle Lukeman, 95 years, of Jacksonville, IL died Friday morning, November 3, 2006 at the Barton W. Stone Home in Jacksonville.
She was born April 27, 1911 in Roodhouse, IL; the daughter of Clarence Y. And Ethel Williams Rimbey. She married George T. Lukeman Jr. On February 1, 1932 in Jacksonville and he preceded in death on January 2, 1989.
She is survived by a son, Tom R. Lukeman (wife, Joanne) of Jacksonville; a daughter, Judy G. Williams of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Connie Lukeman of San Diego, CA, Thomas K. Williams (wife, Kelly) of Jacksonville, Melissa Bobb (husband, Mark) of Elgin, Bob Hill (wife, Jean) of Jacksonville, Brad Hill (wife, Debbie) of Jackson, TN, and Diane Hardwick (husband, Larry) of rural Arenzville; seven great grandchildren; and a niece.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence "C.Y." Rimbey (surviving wife, Phyllis of Jacksonville), and a sister, June Stewart.
Mrs. Lukeman enjoyed bridge games with her friends and supporting her favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals.
Private family funeral services will be held with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville. There will be no formal visitation but friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, November 5, 2006 at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Elks Crippled Children Foundation, Passavant Area Hospital, or a charity of the donor's choice.
