Pieternelle Bessie Dykshoorn, the daughter of Bas and Martha (Herrewynen) Dekker, was born November 14, 1928 in Boyden, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Sheldon, where she received her education, graduating from Sheldon High School.

Nell married Lowell Dykshoorn and to this marriage 3 children were born. Nell and Lowell owned and operated Lindsay Water Softener Company for several years. She was a member of Hope Reformed Church in Spencer.

Nell passed away unexpectedly at her home in Spencer on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell in 2013; her daughter, Cheryl Buren; a son-in-law, Byron Roos; one brother, Leonard Dekker and a sister, Marie Veen.

Left to cherish her memory are a daughter; one son; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one brother, Jacob Dekker of Worthington, MN; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Jan Dykshoorn of Sheldon, IA; other relatives and friends.
