John married his high school sweetheart Karen L. (Cunningham) in 1957 and she survives. He is also survived by six sons, Chris (Deb) Bloomer, Bradley (Sue) Bloomer, Jody (Teresa) Bloomer, John (Sheri) Bloomer, Robb (Mark) Bloomer and Marty (Sherri Beetz) Bloomer; eighteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many cousins.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; one grandson, Jacob Bloomer; one brother, Wayne Bloomer and one sister, Beverly Daniels.
John was a very active member of the Addison Panthers Booster Club. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming. He worked at Goodyear in Jackson for 18 years until they closed then he moved to the plant in Tecumseh for 8 years and finished his years at Gampco in North Adams. John and his wife, Karen enjoyed listening and traveling to bluegrass festivals He loved life and anything to do with sports, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
A funeral service to honor his life will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Reed officiating.
