Rev. Oscar C. Vallery, 77, of Monroe, died early Wednesday after a lengthy illness. He was a retired minister.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Derry cemetery under the direction of Hixson Bros. Funeral home, with Rev. C. H. Reed officiating. Derry is located between Natchitoches and Alexandria.
A native of Natchitoches parish, he had resided in Monroe for the past 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Catherine Vallery, of Monroe; three sons, Andrew Vallery, Erving Vallery and Ivie Vallery, all of Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Marcellett Cavaness, of Monroe; one step-daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Davis, of Monroe; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
