John B. Hatton, age 82, of Wilkesboro Blvd., Boomer, passed away, Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care – Hudson. He was born August 18, 1933, in Caldwell County to the late John F. and Ida Reid Hatton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan R. Hatton; daughter, Sandra H. Thomas; grandson, Jason Stephen Douglas; brothers, William, Tom, Dewey, Finley and George Hatton; and sisters, Mary Hatton, Mamie Auton, Jenniev Hatton, Ruth Pipes and Ethel Mae Hatton.

Mr. Hatton was retired from Kincaid Furniture and was a member of Livingston Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Porter Hatton of the home; one daughter, Joanne H. Douglas of Boomer; and one grandchild, Brandi D. Cook; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Livingston Memorial Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Donald Pete Cox. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Porter, Paul Porter, Dale Porter, Eddie Porter, Michael Clark and Terry Hubbard.

Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Auton.
