She was the eldest daughter of Rocco and Margaret (Kattor) DiPasquale. She married James Henry McAuliffe on 8/28/1930 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Worcester, MA.
They had children Mary Clare, James Henry Jr., Evelyn Helen and William John.
Rachel lived in Worcester all her life. She was a homemaker, gifted with her hands in the wonderful food she cooked her family and friends, in the beautiful crochet work and knitting that she did, in the love she showed her children and her grandchildren.
She loved to have fun and to play (and win if she could) sports especially badminton. She had a sweet tooth and nothing pleased her more than fresh escargot. She was a friend to animals and opened her home to several cats and dogs over the years, including King, Hobo and Charmaine.
She was grandmother to James Henry III, Mary, Kathleen McAuliffe (children of her son Jimmy); Maureen Alyson and Timothy Michael Babcock (children of her daughter Mary) and Susan Rachel, John Michael and Paul James (children of her daughter Evelyn.
She was treasured by her family. Her memory and the warmth it brings her children and descendants is always near.
