Mr. Willie Hughes died at his home on Aug. 12th, at 6:30 P.M., after a few weeks of painful illness. He was in his 65th year. His death was thought to have been caused from sunstroke some few weeks ago. Mr. Hughes was a man of noble character and always meant well. The greater part of his life was spent with his home people and in the home in which he died. He had lived there from his birth to the time of his death, save only a few years of his early married life. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Graham, of Hampden-Sydney, and his body was laid to rest in the family cemetery at his home on Wednesday evening at held after three oclock. He leaves a widow, four sons and two daughters to mourn his loss, and we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones. May they fully realize that He who ruleth doeth all things well.
