CAVEAT: Some information on this person is speculative since no actual birth or death information has been found. Info on death can only be noted as being before June 1738. It MAY be likely that it could be closer to 1736/37 timeframe. His actual cemetery site is unknown, but actively pursuing the issue.

Philbert Wright, Sr. was likely born in England. NO RECORD OF [AND NOTHING KNOWN TO DATE] HIS PARENTS OR EXACTLY WHERE OR WHEN HE WAS BORN. What IS known is that he married into an old English family - the Becraft's.

PHILBERT WRIGHT is my 4x-great-grandfather.

A few records are found for him as follows:
SOURCE: Cavaliers and pioneers; Abstracts of Virginia Land Patents and Grants, 1623-1800 (1934) Cavaliers and Pioneers Patent Book No. 5, page 512- 513 Site: http://archive.org/det ails/cavalierspioneer00nuge

16 May 1709 Maryland - he is mentioned in the estate of one Matthew Mockbee. No reason stated as to why he was mentioned.

3 Dec 1712 - according to church records, he married Esther Becraft 3 Dec 1712 at Queen Anne's Parish, Prince George's County, MD.

Known children [identified by baptismal records] are:
Anne Wright 1713–?
Peter Wright 1717–1767
Philbert Wright, Jr. 1719–1791
Rebecca Wright 1722–

No baptismal records found for the following sons; however, DNA from descendant of each was sufficient it positively identify them as sons through male descendants of RICHARD, SR. b. abt 1726 -
JOSEPH, b. abt 1730

Other records available for proof:
5 Jul 1720 - acquisition of 'NEAL'S DELIGHT' by Philbert Right [Wright]

12 May 1731 - provided collateral for a loan. William Parson/Persons of Anne Arundel County used a mare he had of Philbart [sic] Wright as collateral for a loan 13 May 1731 [Anne Arundel County Land Records 1730-1733 Microfilm CR39,511-3] Researched by Joy McDaniel. [This would be the FATHER - as the son b. 1719 would only be 12 yrs. old.]

June 1738 - the only thing known of Philbert's death is that it 'likely' occurred several years before this date. BASED on the 'affair' of Esther of a son in this year,

NOTICE: NONE of the following families are genetically [known by DNA data] related to this family line:

1. GEORGE WASHINGTON [through his cousin's marriage to Francis Wright]
2. DANIEL WRIGHT AND ELEANOR BENTON
3. THE WRIGHT BROTHERS
4. ANY OTHER KNOWN WRIGHT LINES

Philbert has no ancestors identified. PLEASE do not fabricate them.
