Born July 16, 1917 in Rowan County, Mrs. Collins was a daughter of the late Monroe and Mary Ida Davis Shoemaker. She was a member of Westmoreland Baptist Church in Charlotte.
Mrs. Collins was married to James Edward Collins, who preceded her in death. Two sisters, Mary Bell Garrin and Dorothy S. James, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, James Craig Collins of Mooresville; two grandchildren, Jamie Collins and Misty Thompson; and two greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Oct. 31 at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Carolina Memorial Park in Concord.
