He gave his heart and life to Jesus Christ when he was 12 years of age, and continued to live faithfully for Him until he left this earth.
He was a member of Haven Heights Baptist Church. John worked for Whirlpool until retirement. Then, he enjoyed gardening, antiquing and having breakfast once a month on Saturday morning with his old school buddies. He was married to the love of his life Linda (Scrudder) Cobb for 51 ½ years.
Besides being survived by his wife he leaves behind a daughter, Tammy Theile and husband Kevin; a son, Jeffrey Cobb and wife Janna; and five grandchildren, Zane Hight, Ashley Hight, Brillyn Thiele, Stephanie (Cobb) Patton, and Emily Cobb to cherish his memories.
Pallbearers will be his friends and honorary pallbearers are the members of his Sunday School Class which he enjoyed so much.
The celebration of his life will be at Haven Heights Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Friday. Interment will be held at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
