A native of Buckingham County, he lived here 37 years.
He was a member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church.
He worked for Naval Base Cleaners 25 years.
Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wesley R. Fawcette of Norman, Okla.; two brothers, E. Mitchell Dunkum of Chesapeake and Paul B. Dunkum of Ashland; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah E. Wallace of Ashland and Mrs. Ruby Pierce of Arlington; and two grandchildren.
The body was taken to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home.

NORFOLK - A funeral service for Jesse Bernard Dunkum, 73, the husband of Mrs. Mary Louise Owen Dunkum, will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Friday at noon by the Rev. Daniel D. Dickenson, of Lafayette Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Virginian Beach.
