Ex-Counsel for Greenwich, Conn., Had Been State Senator
Greenwich, Conn., Feb. 5 - H. Allen Barton, who was counsel for the town of Greenwich from 1935 until last December, died tonight in the Greenwich Hospital from the effects of a cerebral hemorrhage suffered while trying a civil case here this afternoon. He was 54 years old. His home was on Cognewaugh Road. Mr. Barton, who served as a quartermaster in the Navy during the first World War, was a State Senator in 1930-32, and a member of the Merritt Parkway Commission from its formation in 1935 until 1942. He leaves a widow, the former Elizabeth Hoisington, two sons, Allen H. and David K. Barton; a daughter, Elizabeth M. Barton, and a sister, Kathryn Barton.
