KINSTON | Manley Wilbur Alphin, 88, of 1304 Greene Haynes Road passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, N.C. Mr. Alphin was the retired owner of Alphin Exterminating Company, and a member of Bethel FWB Church. Wilbur was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grand father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He was born in Jones County, and was preceded in death by his parents Manley and Julia Alphin, brothers, Bruce, Bevely, C.W., Herbert, Keith and sister Elizabeth Strickland. Visitation will be held Friday April 22, at Bethel FWB Church from 6 p.m. until service time. Funeral service will begin at 7:30 p.m, officiated by Rev. Mike Pridgen assisted by Pastor Chris Truet. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday April 23, at Westview Cemetery. Mr. Alphin is survived by his wife; Dorothy Stroud Alphin of the home, daughters; Cathy Alphin Pridgen (Mike) of Kinston, Gail Alphin Davis (Bobby) of Kinston and Diane Alphin Wells (Ron) of Suffolk, Va., grandchildren; B.J. Davis, Johnathan Davis, Amy Davis Curtis, Josh Pridgen, Nathan Pridgen, Ryan Wells and Aaron Wells, 12 great-grandchildren, a brother; Gene Alphin of Kinston, several nieces and nephews and a beloved pet "Punkin." Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center 107 Handley Park Court Goldsboro, N.C. 27534. Arrangements are with Edwards Funeral Home.
